For a really long time Martin and I have dreamed about concrete floors. We love the industrial warehouse-turned-home look, and aside from the drool-worthy beauty of smooth concrete floors, they seem incredibly practical for our grubby bunch of little people. We have wooden floors in our Auckland bungalow, and love the easy clean functionality, so can’t imagine switching our living spaces to carpet.
When we asked the building company to quote on replacing the tiles and carpet specified in the build plan we held our breath, expecting concrete to be WAY out of our budget…but we were pleasantly surprised at how little we’ll need to top up to have our dream flooring.
I’ve been pinning concrete floor inspiration for what seems like forever, and I thought I’d compile a few of my favourite shots here in one space. I feel like these give me a really concise, cohesive idea of what we’re hoping to achieve in our new home, not just for the flooring but for the general feeling of our living spaces as a whole. Enjoy!
